Note: In an Advocate Alliance meeting (3/12/07), Pastor Joe Brock referenced an article called "A Burning United States." I wrote this back in 2001 as the Lord gave it to me and included it in a Shepherd's Rod writing. I have printed the entire document below. The article Joe referenced is a little over half-way in the text and printed in red font.
Shepherd's Rod 2002
Shawn Lombard
On August 31, 2001 God spoke to me in the morning while I was working. He told me to prepare for Yom Kippur. In doing so I knew I would have to examine Psalm 102. He told me to look at the book of Jeremiah. He said that I would see weeping prophets in the coming year(s). He told me to be ready to hear, to write, and to speak. From then on God spoke to me during the current season of Yom Kippur-- the Day of Atonement.
I had learned about the Shepherd’s Rod from the ministry of Bob Jones. Earlier this year I heard Bob say that anyone who hears prophetically is subject to receive Shepherd’s Rod revelation. God had already been dealing with me about receiving this revelation. The following material is from Bob Jones website (www.bobjones.org):
The term "Shepherd's Rod" derives its meaning from Ezekiel 20:37 stating:
"AND I SHALL MAKE YOU PASS UNDER THE ROD, AND I SHALL BRING YOU INTO THE BOND OF THE COVENANT".
This scripture symbolically portrays a shepherd extending his rod as his sheep pass under the staff for evaluation. In like manner, we as the Lord's sheep, pass under His staff during this season for the same purpose. Jeremiah 33:13 and Leviticus 27:32 provide more clarity in this Biblical principle.
Psalm 102
We look at a psalm for every year. The psalm for this year is Psalm 102.
Psalm 102
1. Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to You. 2. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day that I call, answer me speedily. 3. For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned like a hearth. 4. My heart is stricken and withered like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread. 5. Because of the sound of my groaning my bones cling to my skin. 6. I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert. 7. I lie awake, and am like a sparrow alone on the housetop. 8. My enemies reproach me all day long, those who deride me swear an oath against me. 9. For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, 10. Because of Your indignation and Your wrath; for You have lifted me up and cast me away. 11. My days are like a shadow that lengthens, and I wither away like grass.
12. But You, O LORD, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations. 13. You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. 14. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. 15. So the nations shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. 16. For the LORD shall build up Zion; he shall appear in His glory. 17. He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer. 18. This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD. 19. For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven the LORD viewed the earth, 20. To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death, 21. To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem, 22. When the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD. 23. He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days. 24. I said, "O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days; your years are throughout all generations. 25. Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 26. They will perish, but You will endure; yes, they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak You will change them, and they will be changed. 27. But You are the same, and Your years will have no end. 28. The children of Your servants will continue, and their descendants will be established before You."

According to the Matthew Henry Commentary some theologians believe David wrote this psalm when Absalom rebelled. On the other hand, others believe a prophet, for the use of the church penned it, when they were in Babylonian captivity. They believe this because it speaks of the fall of Zion and the eventual rebuilding of it. Whomever the writer, the ruin of the city is clear, and rebellion was the cause.
Back about a year ago I had a vision of the Statue of Liberty falling. At that time I felt that our nation had fallen, and I know that many leaders in the church world believe the same. In the vision the mighty statue fell, and I expected to see it crumble, but it did not.
(Psalm 102:1-2) The psalm begins with lament. The writer pleads with God to hear his cry and hide not His face from him. The enormous amount of sin in our country is mirrored in the church. Churches are crying out for the Presence of God, but they are not submitting to Him. Their sin keeps Him away. They have been stirred by the message of "chasing God", but they have simply added Him to a list of things they are also chasing. And no, He is not at the top. James tells us that a "double-minded man is unstable in all his ways"(1:8). We are a nation of double-minded Christians, and God wants us to be humble like the writer of this psalm and cry out whole-heartedly to Him.
(Psalm 102:3-13) He wants us to see the ruin of our hearts and cry out to Him to have mercy on us. We need so desperately to see the poor state that we are in. In this psalm we see images of death and destruction-- smoke, bones, groaning. Many of us do not even want to read a psalm like this. We are frightened by our very own appearance. The Christian church in America has been like the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37. The truth remains that we have separated ourselves from God by our own sin. The birds that are mentioned in verse six are unclean birds wandering in the wilderness. They are like those that have been in sin and without direction. God does not want that for us; He wants us to be eagles soaring to Him.
Verse 11 speaks of a "shadow that lengthens and withering like grass". If we continue in sin we will not last long. We can not, in the days to come, try to stand for God and love the world at the same time. We will wither if we do.
The week of the September 11th tragedy I worked a high school football game for a production company. I casually commented to one of the announcers that I didn’t think we’d be there that week. He assured me that the nation needed a distraction from the current disaster news. As the days moved ahead I heard others say the same thing. I agree that the nation needs to move forward, but we need to allow God to move our hearts closer to Him as well. I believe many Christians were only slightly affected by what has happened. They still want to continue in their own lives, playing all week and sitting in cold pews on Sunday. Things have got to change.
(Psalm 102:13-17) In the midst of our groaning God desires to rebuild Zion. Verse 13 says the "set time has come to favor her". The Hebrew word for favor here is chanan. It means to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior-- to be merciful. Zion is the fortress or literally the people of God. God wants to have mercy upon us and rebuild us as His people.
Verse 15 reads "the nations shall fear the name of the Lord". This is a reference to Gentile nations. During a spontaneous song on Yom Kippur, God brought be back to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In King’s speech "I Have a Dream" he spoke of a time when black and white children ran together, played together, and went to school together. God spoke to my heart and said that He had a dream, too (Isaiah 55:8,9). He dreamed of children of all ethnicity’s running and playing together under the brightness of His Son. And in the end, all of them bringing worship and glory to the Lord Jesus as one. I saw all of the different colors of people coming together as a brilliant tapestry in honor to the Lord. The writer of this psalm eludes to this unity in verse 22 and writes the "peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord".
(Psalm 102:18a) The next verses mention a "generation to come". I asked God what part of the New Testament applied to this generation. He told me to look at John the Baptist and his mother Elizabeth. When he was yet even in his mother’s womb, he leaped in the presence of the Son of God. We will begin to see many women like Elizabeth. Elizabeth recognized the Lord in Mary and prophesied over her.
God is raising up women who will be very sensitive to what the Spirit is doing in this day. They will bring forth babies ready to do kingdom work. These children will respond to God at very tender ages. God will be setting them apart while they are yet infants. The generation of Elizabeth’s should rejoice for the children they will deliver and raise up in the Lord!
We will see this phenomenon in the natural but also in the spiritual. The church will act as Elizabeth and give birth to John the Baptist. John the Baptist was a type of Elijah. God is raising up Elijahs to ACT on His behalf. Prophets wrote much of the Old Testament. Elijah, to our knowledge, did not write but instead, was written about. He was a man of God’s action. Elijah was a man of James 1:22, for he was a "doer of the Word". God is raising up a prophetic people who are doers—men and women of action.
"And the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD" (102:18b). That "generation to come" will be mighty praisers. Their praise will be militant like the praise that brought the walls of Jericho down. They will praise with all their heart, mind, and strength. They will not be ashamed to sing, shout, and dance before the Lord with all their energy as David did.
Verses 19 and 20 show God’s mercy. "For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven the LORD viewed the earth, To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death". Throughout scripture death can refer to separation from God, but the triumph of Jesus destroys this separation. In the book of Jeremiah the writer prophesies the coming Messiah. The prophet calls Him JEHOVAH-TSIDKEENU or The Lord our Righteousness (I COR. 1:30). During the spontaneous song on Yom Kippur, God showed me Jesus lifting us up to the Father. I saw two hands gently lifting a mass of people up to an extremely bright light. The bright light was the Glory of God. We were all covered in the protection of Jesus’ Righteousness.
(Psalm 102:21-28) In reference to verse 24 many people on September 11, 2001 were taken "in the midst of" their day. If we do not heed the Lord’s call for us to see our destitute state and repent, we will see more of this. The scriptures juxtapose the finite and the infinite. The heavens and earth will "wax old like a garment", but He will endure. These passages point to the Messiah. They say His "years shall have no end." Our hearts, minds, and strengths should be fixed on His Kingdom. What we do for Him has eternal significance.
Verse 28 revisits dialogue about a generation to come. In previous verses the writer agonizes falling short in the Lord-- even dying too soon. But here we see the children "will continue" and their children "will be established before" Him. The young people in this country will not stop where we have stopped. They will continue in the things of the Lord. Recently the Lord showed me that the shark attack phenomenon had prophetic significance. The main victims of these occurrences were youth. God showed me that He was calling the young people to launch out into the deep. But the enemy does not want this, and he is trying to stop this because the youth in this nation will go farther than we have ever imagined. They will do this because they will not have fear. They will be like Joshua and Caleb who did not the fear the giants in the land of Canaan (Numbers 14:8). I see young people more and more mounting up for battle like Joshua as a warrior for the Lord. They are ready for battle because they are "established before" Him.
Eagle Children
On September 8, 2001, I had the following vision:
I see a beautiful baby born. The doctor who delivers her is the Father. He is dark and earthen in appearance-- like bark. He holds her closely for a long time. She clearly enjoys His affection. As she is enjoying Him and laughing in His arms, she changes into an eagle. She takes flight and flies high above Him. But she does not leave His view. I ask the Lord why He is dark and earthen. He replies that He is shown in this vision as the Tree of Life. When He says this, I see the eagle soar high above this great tree. As she flies above she is circling the Tree of Life.
There is a "generation to come" that will be delivered by the Father. They will literally be raised in His Presence. They will be nourished on the Tree of Life for a season, and then they will soar to great heights as eagle saints. They will do mighty deeds for the Kingdom, but they will never leave His Presence. They will not leave the place of their birth.
I have always been taught that eagles made their nests in the rocks. I found the image of an eagle perching in a tree strange. The next day on the front page of the Birmingham News was a cover story on bald eagles in Alabama. According to the story, fifteen years ago eagles were planted in Alabama to prevent extinction. The pictures showed bald eagles nesting in a tall tree.
Do Not Be Afraid!
On the morning of September the ninth, God spoke Ezekiel 2:6 to me:
"And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house." God was speaking to Ezekiel in concerning his ministry to Judah. He prophesied to the Jews exiled in Babylon-- to a people who were already captive.
God showed me that boldness is coming upon His people. God wants to build an army, but He can not do that when they have fear in them. Prophets will no longer be afraid of the words they get or to whom they give them. They will be placed in front of nations and kings to prophesy God’s purpose for them. Ezekiel prophesied to captives, and we, as a prophetic people, will be prophesying to captives. The captivity of our nation my not be as obvious as that of Judah, but it is as real.
"But he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart against turning to the Lord God of Israel"(2 Chronicles 36:13b). Throughout scripture the people of God are referred to as stiff-necked and hard-hearted. While I was in prayer after the September 11th tragedy, God showed me that His people in this country had been stiff-necked and hard-hearted. I saw that their hearts had been softened by the national tragedy, but their necks were still stiff. A soft heart will allow a person to become more intimate with God. But a stiff neck causes that same person to be stubborn. In close intimacy the person will hear God’s voice. However, because of the stubbornness, that same person will waiver on whether to heed the direction of the Lord. In getting back to Ezekiel 2:6, God is granting more boldness to come on prophets to deal with this stubbornness. The stubbornness is what has lead them to be a "rebellious house".
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear..." (1 John 4:18). Ezekiel was to not be afraid of their words or looks. We can not prophesy in fear. Diviners prophesy in fear and use people’s fears to manipulate them. God wants us to prophesy in love. Some of the words we bring may involve correction, and they will not always be the words people want to hear. That’s why love is so important. Love in our words and actions will temper the message.
Jeremiah
On August 31, 2001, God told me to look at the book of Jeremiah for the coming year. Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. He wept the tears of an intercessor. God spoke to me and said that I would see weeping prophets in the coming year. He showed me that He wanted to change the United States from a nation of so-called Christians to that of a nation of intercessors. We have got to
weep for the sins of the land.
In the Hebrew Jeremiah is Yirmeyahu or Yirmeyah. It literally means "Yahweh Throws," as in laying or establishing a foundation. In a spontaneous song on Yom Kippur, God said to me that He wanted to rebuild the foundation of our nation. He said the old foundation had been destroyed. It did not hold up because it was not built on Him. Much like the foolish man we in this nation have built our house on the sand (Matthew 7:24-27). God wants to rebuild the foundation on the Chief Cornerstone-- the Rock, Christ Jesus. "Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt" (Jeremiah 31:4).
Jeremiah was a hated prophet because he prophesied in a time of great sin in Judah. This sin led to Judah’s fall. The book begins with his calling. God speaks to him saying, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations"(1:5). We have been set in this place because of divine destiny, and we must respond according to the Spirit no matter what the cost.
The cost for Jeremiah was everything. The people and the so-called prophets of the time hated him. He was eventually barred from the temple, and publicly humiliated by the false prophet Hananiah. He was forbidden to marry. He watched his prophecies come true, and with the rest of the people, he was swept away to other lands where some say he died as a martyr.
The book of Jeremiah is a long and sometimes gruesome book. He outlines the sins of Judah, and the judgement that will come because of the sin. "For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge" (4:22). One of the greatest sins of omission in our churches is not really knowing God. A few years ago God burnt into me the question, "Do you really know me?" That question still burns in me and motivates my being. Jeremiah also writes that they have no knowledge to do good. Ever since the Supreme Court ruled against prayer and Bible reading in school our nation has suffered. Today there many young people who do not know the difference in right and wrong, and this is evident in many Christian youth as well.
"…’They have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, ‘but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them,’ "(Jeremiah 9:13, 14).
On September the ninth, God spoke to me concerning His law. The Law of the Lord (Ten Commandments) will continually be questioned in the world and in the church. God wants to write His law on our hearts. Prophets will bring correction by prophesying out of the law. Prophets will be like attorneys counseling the Law of God, for the law has to be restored. The Ten Commandments should not only be a political staff, but a battle cry for revolution. The young people of the land need the law. They are suffering and crying for its truth. When they have the law in their hearts, they will be established and have footing. These warriors being raised up can not be raised up on a limp, feel-good gospel. It’s got to be gritty and true.
The restoration of the Law of God is not out of legalism but out of relationship. Jesus summed up the law in Matthew 22:37,39: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ” It gets back to the question of knowing God. If we do not know His law, we do not know Him. This is part of the rebuilding of the foundation of our nation. As in the book of Jeremiah we have sinned greatly in this land. If we do not heed the Lord’s voice, we will see more destruction. We as a nation of intercessors must cry out for the land and give everything to the Lord.
" ‘If you will return, O Israel,’ says the Lord, ‘Return to Me; And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, Then you shall not be moved. And you shall swear, The LORD lives,’ " (Jeremiah 4:1). The great sin of Judah was idolatry. This great sin caused other sins. The Christian church is also suffering from this problem. I remember a vision I had concerning this. In it I saw a multitude of people bringing armloads of idols to the altar. They were stacking them up into piles and starting bonfires. God wants to remove the idols we have allowed in our lives. He wants to send His fire to consume them.
The desolation that Jeremiah prophesied came because the people did not heed the word of the Lord. But out of desolation eventually came triumph. In chapter 33 the Messiah is prophesied, and the covenant is reaffirmed. “Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down”(12). We may also see desolation. But for the moment, God is giving us a choice-- our hearts or our nation. “So rend your heart, and not your garments;” (Joel 2:13).
Jeremiah also prophesies against the sins of nine Gentile nations and ultimately, the fall of Jerusalem. But within all this, he prophesies the coming Messiah-- the Lord Our Righteousness (23:1-8) and the restoration of Jerusalem (30-33). On Yom Kippur I saw two separate images of Jesus’ hands lifting people to the Father. The first I have already shared one image in relationship to the Lord Our Righteousness. The second image was that of Jerusalem being lifted up to the Father from out of ashes. The scriptures tell us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God showed me that when we pray for peace to come to Jerusalem, we are praying for Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to come. There is a hunger rising in the hearts of Jews. Many will come to the knowledge of the true Messiah.
A Burning United States
On September 8 2001, I had the following vision:
I see a very old map of the United States. It looks like an old sailors’ map written on parchment. I see a fire burn from east to west. I see it start in the northeast and rush across the continental U.S. The map then becomes a thick, old book. It is the history of the U.S. The fire is burning brightly in the middle two-thirds of the book. The Lord tells me that this is the present. The fire spreads out in both directions consuming history and future.
My immediate interpretation of this vision was that the fires of revival were going to burn across this nation. The fire would bring intercession and repentance in the present that would address the sins of the past and prevent calamity in the future. Three days later I watched terrorist fires topple buildings in New York and Washington on the East Coast. Spiritual fire is often paralleled by real fire.
“A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns;” (Joel 2:3a). If we are going the see the outpouring of the Spirit as in the later part of Joel 2, we are going to have to face the fire of the first part of Joel 2.
John 13:8
I literally got behind a car with John 13:8 on a personalized tag. It was a large, eighties model car. John 13:8 reads, “Peter said to Him, ‘You shall never wash my feet!’ Jesus answered him, ‘If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.’”
In the eighties we saw scandal in ministries. Ministries were exposed that had not allowed Jesus to wash them. A strong word for the ministries of today is, “Continually allow Jesus to wash you.” I read this on a personalized tag. Ministers can not get caught up in ministry and lose touch with the person of Jesus. The Lord wants to be a personal friend who washes away the sin out of our lives.
This scripture also shows Jesus acting as the ultimate servant-leader. Ministers must lead in brokeness and servitude.
Asia
On September 12, God showed me His Glory coming mightily to Asia. These countries follow a custom of declaring a year for a creature—such as the “Year of the Dragon”. God told me that Asia was entering into the “Year of the Lion”. The countries of China and Japan are at the center of this. While the churches in China will see awesome visitations of His Presence, Japan will see evangelism. It is time for the number of Japanese Christians to increase. Even Japan’s mighty industry will be affected. I saw great economic leaders coming to the Lord. Buddhists by the thousands will be converted in the coming years. I saw the statue of Buddha fall like Dagon at the ark of His Presence (1 Samuel 5:1-5).
Music
In the sixties Bob Dylan arose as a great folk singer. He became a voice for social change. But at the height of his popularity, his sound was what changed. He went from acoustic guitar to electric guitar. He did this at a folk festival, and the crowd booed during his set. I believe God wants to put His electricity in the music of the church. Electricity means power, and it literally causes live music to be louder and bolder. People can hear it from a great distance. Worship music is going to be electrified. The power of God will be seen greater in worship, and people will be drawn to it from great distances. The literal sound of the music will be bolder.
God showed me in the mid-nineties that Christian music would ascend to a place where it no longer copied the fads of current popular music. Christian music would become the standard of musical excellence. That day is here. More and more creativity, straight from the throne of God, is being released to Christian musicians. But only those musicians whose hearts are fixed on Him will receive.
Just as Bob Dylan brought out the electric guitar, more and more traditional churches will bring out electric instruments, especially the electric guitar. What were once soft, timid worship services will become powerful, life-changing services. Sonic power will be displayed in the actual sound of the music, and it will parallel God’s power in the worship service.
I also saw a mighty anointing coming on drummers and percussionists. In the eighties Paul Simon used African drummers on a couple of his albums. The title of one of those albums is “Rhythm of the Saints”. The rhythm of heaven is literally coming into our worship services. Power is coming upon drummers and percussionists to lead worshippers into His Presence from the drums.
God went further and showed me that electric guitars and drums have been kept out of churches like prophets and apostles. Like prophets, electric guitars will prophesy and sing the song of the Lord. Like apostles, drums will lay the foundation and move to the order of the Lord.
Seeing Color
On Yom Kippur God spoke to me that we would be seeing colors, and as He spoke this to me, I saw a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. I meditated on the meaning of this and was lead to look at advancements in television. The first television shows were broadcast in black and white. In 1953 the first color broadcasts were made, but it was not until the sixties that color television sets became common. The Christian church has been seeing in black and white, and God wants us now to see in color.
When we go from seeing in black and white to seeing in color, we see things we did not see before. The view becomes more realistic, and we can relate to the scenery better. We become more sensitive to wants going on. The colors that we are going to see will raise our awareness level, and they will prompt responses out of us that the Father desires.
One of the most realistic prophecies about the Messiah in the Old Testament is Isaiah chapter 53. In it we see in graphic detail the suffering that He experienced for us. The imagery suggests to us feelings, action, sounds, and colors. “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7)
Cold in the Pacific
I saw cold water brimming in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. I saw cold winds moving down from the Pacific Northwest into the Plains states. Intercessors need to pray for these areas. Pray for the seas and the winds to be calm.
Spontaneous Song
I received the following song on Yom Kippur:
This nation is fallen because its foundations were unsure,
The foundations were not of the Lord,
The current foundations were given to evil,
So they had to be torn.
I want to rebuild and reestablish,
I want to rebuild the hearts of men,
I want to rebuild and start all over,
That there would be a new beginning for everyone.
The foundation could not last long where it was,
You were like the foolish man that built his house on the sand,
Many cried out, “Look at the peace that’s upon us,
They said there is much prosperity in this land.”
They laughed and said,
“Nothing bad is going to happen to me,
I’m as happy as a little child.”
They lived their lives as children,
Just grabbing out for every little thing that they wanted,
They refused to come into My House.
But I want to rebuild the foundations,
Foundations that will be made out of stone.
I want to be the rebuilder of this nation,
I want to make it My own.
For I’ve been crying out for years now to call me,
I said, “People, why don’t you just call for me?”
But you were too busy,
You were too busy with things to do for yourselves.
I want to rebuild this nation,
I want to set it upright on the foundation of My Son.
I want to start things all over,
For the time now,
The time is at hand.
For in the coming years this nation must be ready,
It’s time for the Christians to mobilize for war.
The horses are ready,
They are blaring,
They are stomping at the bit and the bridle, says the Lord.
I want to give My people swords,
I want to give My people shields,
I want to give My people helmets,
I want to train them right so they can go off to war.
I am drafting them into the service of the kingdom,
There is no age limit in this war.
But, in fact, the very young will be called--greater,
The very young will be the next in line to take up the way.
The very young, very young,
They will be the ones to pioneer,
And cross the hedges,
Cross through the deep and dark jungles.
For I will place a mighty anointing of battle upon them,
They will not show fear like others before,
Their eyes will gleam and glisten with the Truth of Me,
And their hearts will be fixed on the Word of the Lord.
For the days, they will be dark and numbered,
Some will not come back from certain battles,
Some will weep and say, “We have lost them,”
But others will rejoice because they know
They’re already there—at home.
We’ve entered into a serious time now,
It’s a time we’ve not seen before.
It’s an age of soldiers,
Specialized in units,
It’s an age of continual war.
For I have written “WAR” on the foreheads of the children that are coming,
I have written “VALOR” and “COURAGE”, says the Lord.
From the dawn of time they have been destined to stand up in this hour,
With the shield of faith and with sword.
Mighty, mighty generals will be raised up,
But they will not be seen as before,
They will not care about their names or how they look to people,
They just want to win this, they just want to win this… war.
For this war is for the nations of the world,
This war is for the heathen nations that rage,
This war is for the Word of the Lord to go forth,
For there to be freedom anew in this age.
It’s time for those that have said they were Buddhists,
It’s time for those that have said they were Hindu,
It’s time for those that said they were Muslim,
To come to the Lord.
It’s time for those that have said, “I’m a Jew,”
“I’m still looking for my Messiah,”
To stand up and say, “Jesus, He is that One!”
It’s time for the lost to receive the One who died,
It’s time for the agnostic to receive Him.
It’s time for the atheist, it’s time for the scientist,
It’s time for the Satanist, it’s time for the pagan,
It’s time for them to receive, to receive the Lord.
I am sending you into all the nations,
I am sending over all seas,
I am sending you,
To fight in this war.
I am sending you,
On boats and planes and rockets and ships,
I am sending every way to those shores.
Don’t fear for the looks in their eyes,
Don’t fear for the words that they may say,
I will cause you to go there, I will cause you to go there,
Don’t let your heart be dismayed.
The preparation is now. The preparation is now.
The preparation is now. The preparation is now.
Prepare your heart for battle,
Prepare your mind for Me,
Give over every thought and imagination,
Let Me set you free!
I want guerilla warfare,
I want those that will go anywhere,
I want those who will carry my banner
Over the seas.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
They are stuck in this battle,
I want to visit them like never before.
Pray for the peace,
That the Master of the house would come,
He would bring healing,
And He would restore.
For they have cried out to Me over generations,
They have said, “When will You come back, Oh Lord?”
They have cried out with whole heart and with honesty,
They have been in sack cloth and ashes and on the threshing floor,
They’ve cried and said, “Lord,
Why don’t You come,
And establish Your Kingdom.”
“Lord, why don’t You come,
And establish Your Kingdom.” (repeated twice)
I’m coming. I’m coming.
I’m coming. I’m coming.
For out of the mouths of babes will I stir the land,
Of Jerusalem.
Will I turn her heart to Me,
Will I turn her heart to Me.
For out of the mouth of the outcast,
Will I turn her heart to Me,
Will I turn her heart to Me,
Oh, My Jerusalem.
How I weep for my Jerusalem,
How I long for my Jerusalem,
My sweet Jerusalem.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
For some time now if I saw battle scenes in a movie, I would be moved to tears, and I did not completely understand why. While I sang this song I saw great scenes of spiritual warfare. I saw battle in the sky, and I saw land assaults. The images contained numerous missile blasts and gunfire that made the sky light up like the Fourth of July. I saw WAR. Prepare yourselves for the days ahead.
